Properties of Butyl Latex
May 02, 2023
Butyl latex is artificial latex, that is, butyl rubber is dissolved in petroleum ether to make a glue paste, and an emulsifier is added to emulsify it in water, and artificial latex is obtained after solvent removal and concentration. Butyl latex has good air impermeability, and the processed butyl latex gloves have strong anti-penetration performance, and have outstanding anti-penetration properties to poisonous agents, such as the ability to resist mustard gas is 37 times that of NRL gloves. In addition, butyl latex polymer has the characteristics of high saturation, not easy to age, heat resistance and chemical medium corrosion resistance. But it is not resistant to non-polar solvents, especially hydrocarbon oils and solvents such as kerosene extracted from petroleum.
